Skin tags are non-cancerous tissue growths on the skin. They are usually not painful unless irritated by something such as clothing. You can seek medical assistance for removal or try a simple home remedy.
Clip the Skin Tag
Sterilize a pair of nail clippers by soaking them in boiling water. After sterilizing, place them on a clean cloth. Next, tie a clean thread or dental floss at the the bottom of the skin tag. Using a mirror, carefully clip the skin tag in one smooth motion. Make sure you clip it right above the thread or dental floss so that you do not clip the eyelid. You need to clean the eyelid by dipping a Q-tip into hydrogen peroxide. Very carefully rub the area of the eye lid to prevent infection. Make sure you do not drip hydrogen peroxide into your eye.
When doing anything near or around the eye, be very careful.
Mole or Wart Remover
If you want to dry up a skin tag to help it fall off quickly, simply apply mole or wart remover. Make sure you dab a small amount onto the eye lid. You do not want to drip any of this solution into your eye.
Use this compound every day for about four weeks. The skin tag will dry up and fall off.
Apple Cider Vinegar
You can also use apple cider vinegar to dry up the skin tag. Simply soak a cotton ball or Q-tip in apple cider vinegar and rub on the skin tag. Do this three to four times a day for about 15 days.
Tea Tree Oil
This is another easy remedy for treating skin tags. Wash the skin tag with soap and water and towel dry. Dip a cotton ball into water and apply 3 drops of tea tree oil. Rub this on the skin tag to dry it out. Do this three to four times daily until it comes off. Be careful not to get the tea tree in your eyes.
